Toe socks have been around for a long time, about the 16th Century. They were first started to be worn in Japan with Zori or geta sandals. Those are still around with two pockets one for the great toe and a bigger one for all four other toes together. In 1969 Ethel Russell tried to copywrite her pattern for 5 pocket toe socks but at that time it did not work. She needed to go to the patent law department instead. Her loss was our gain. 

I have two different Colors in this Toe Sock Dots Footie

We all learned our Primary and Secondary Colors in School just like our One, Two, Threes and A, B C's but as I am adding this Very Unique, Very Multi Colored Dot Sock to my site I noticed we are missing a Color. Now it is your turn to find out which one got lost on the knitting floor! 
This Toe Sock is also called a Footie or an Anklet so you pick your favorite descriptor! It starts on a Black background  The Heel is Black but then someone did some fancy Wild knit work on the Toes! The Big Toe is Black but then they change per pocket and go Bright Green, Yellow, Blue and Red (for the little toe that goes wee, wee wee all the way home!) Now our Polka Dots run around in rows of color. Yellow, Green, Blue, Red and Orange. Oh dear, have you guessed yet?

This Toe Sock Dots Footie has a Black background with White Polka Dots all over it. The Great Toe on each sock is a pocket of Black and the small toes are all White pockets. The ribbing around the Sock opening is also White.

These are great Socks to wear while still cold outside but you want to wear sandals, clogs, mules or flip-flops.

They are both Medium size Socks. Thin Style Anklet.
